Energy reform good for Montana business

Queen City News - Energy reform good for Montana business: "We still have not seen the full environmental and economic impacts of the Horizon Deepwater oil spill – not only for the Gulf Coast, but on the country as a whole. As this unprecedented disaster unfolds, we need to be vigilant on recovery efforts, but also we need to focus on improving our country’s long-term energy plans. The U.S. must decide if we want to remain reactive and risk exposing ourselves to future environmental disasters or become proactive and end our dependence on fossil fuels.

When put that way, the decision is easy: Congress must pass comprehensive climate and energy legislation, paving the way for large investments and job creation in renewable energy industries. Montanans are ready for the opportunity renewable energy presents. Companies like mine already employ people right here in communities across Montana. In my case, that work is installing solar energy infrastructure, but for others the opportunity exists across the state not only in solar applications but in wind as well."
