George W. Bush promotes use of renewable energy at Dallas convention News for Dallas, Texas Dallas Morning News Breaking News for Dallas-Fort Worth Dallas Morning News: "If Texas were a nation, it would be sixth in the world in producing the most wind energy, which is just one of the many reasons George W. Bush said he's glad to be back in the state.
The former president and current Dallas resident spoke this morning at the Windpower 2010 convention in the Dallas Convention Center.
In a speech promoting renewable energy, Bush discussed the importance of using tax breaks to support businesses that invest in new technologies.
'If you're interested in developing industry, keep your taxes low,' he said.
Bush said he believes the U.S. is addicted to oil, and to break that addiction, companies need to look to wind energy."
